About Alcinda
my Philosophy
I didn’t come into this industry just to do hair- I came to care for people.
Since 2010, my work has been rooted in nurturing, creating and truly seeing the person in my chair. When I created The Hairapist, it was never meant to be just a salon. It’s a space where you can exhale. Where you’re listened to. Where you can show up exactly as you are and leave feeling more like yourself again.
I believe self-care isn’t superficial-it’s essential. And sometimes, something as simple as your hair feeling right can shift everything. And I do really good hair-the kind that feels effortless, natural, and truly yours.
My Story
I’m an introvert at heart, but deeply connected to people. I love meaningful one-on-one conversations, and over the years, I’ve found that what happens in my chair goes far beyond hair.
I’ve raised two boys-one with autism-which has shaped how I listen, how I problem solve, and how I show up with patience and empathy. Life has taught me how overwhelming things can feel at times and that’s why creating calm, grounding experiences isn’t just part of my business-it’s personal.
When I’m not behind the chair, you’ll find me creating-whether it’s developing hair and body products, pouring candles, soap or making bead art. I also love traveling to Oregon with my husband and my very adorable dog, Max.
